The “dream” (ideal) of the generations is compassionate, just, domination-free, social, communal, egalitarian. The dream (high peak at which we aim) of contemporary American culture is individualistic, wealthy, young, standing out, looking good, getting more wealthy, getting more cars, getting more houses (note: not homes), getting more stuff, getting more attention.
