Footprints in the Windsm # 670

My role is not to teach something I know, but to meet something we didn’t know. This is immensely more open and creative. There is not even a how for that.

Poke-holes

No one knows. All have limited viewing posts. All have small poke-holes. When we let our rainbows out, will we be able to stand the light? Yet we must, we must.

Ripping the grey cloth: there is a little poke-hole for me, for you: we must rip. When we see, we help others to see. When we meet, we open poke-holes. When we open poke-holes, we change the world. We transform ourselves. We grow to what is real. Truth is probably not the thing, truth is probably only a distant relative of, a shadow of, a map of, what is real.

It is essential for this planet and her peoples that we see the real. There is more, ever more. Quoth the raven. For if we are to keep from killing ourselves and the earth, we must meet the real. Every moment is a crucial turning point. We either turn right or into the mire. We must use all we have. We must meet with our whole beings. This is hard work. Shrink not, neither fear. If you die, so what? You have fully spent yourself in the real.

To meet the real: this is the purpose. So far as I see it at this moment. This is the question we all have: what is real, what matters, how do I meet it? How do we meet it?

Clear conscience? Think again

It is more important to have a clear consciousness than a clear conscience.

Getting beyond having it all figured out

The purpose is to get to the other side. The purpose is to get beyond purpose. The purpose is to get beyond our ready answers, having it all figured out to finding what is really there—all of it—all of us.

Group journaling…or we die

Dialogue can be to us as group journaling—out loud. Whatever comes up is the object. The purpose is transformation of consciousness. The purpose of journaling is the transformation of self—and it happens. Moreover, we face a crisis, a life and death breakpoint if we do not dialogue. Only dialogue holds out the hope of transforming how we awake so that we make a new Earth. Without a transformation, we die.

in seeing the similarities and differences

In conversation, what comes back to us is not precisely what we said but only similar; in seeing the similarities and differences, the new is born. As each of us meets that new thing, even more new is born, not least of which is each of us. The persons we meet are brought forth each instant; so too the persons we are. Indra’s net sparkles. The persons are changing before our eyes, ears and hearts. It is a flow. Most important are the threads, ever moving, when they touch sparking. The threads are not things but accustomed pathways, made real only by thoughts pulsing and blowing through and around.

Not by straigt lines

Conversation is how we get someplace by spinning around with another—and another. Perhaps we cannot even get anyplace in a straight line.

Thought is work

Thought is work. Thought moves things. Thought itself is produced by the confluence of two or more thoughts. The greater the difference of the parents the newer the child, the greater the work.

What is different about what is similar is a birth

To see what is different about what is similar is a birth. This is the work of conversation: so to attend similarities and differences to bring forth new work.

not learning but creativity

Similarities and differences noticed are what not learning but creativity is about. Learning may then be seen as the early stages of creativity.

Believe–Belove

Some believe in a God who wound up the world as we would a clock and walked away, allowing it to run down. Others believe in a God who manipulates and controls every action, with people no better than puppets. I belove G*d who is in love with each person, animal and blade of grass.

Forcing people to learn “our” language

When we force another people to learn our language, when we do not learn their language a portion of them becomes better than us: bilingual. We think we are homogenizing, subjugating even, when we are short-changing our own minds. What happens when they speak “their” language in front of you? What happens when they become so numerous as to be a voting force—and vote more than you?

Companions, friends, sharers of bread I seek, co-creators, co-celebrators, co-rippers of the grey fabric. Rainbows loosed! I will speak to them the visions I have glimpsed and they will share with all our souls their visions. Join. Thus we find and ripen persons for the harvest. When we share the meanings of our lives, we join. It is close, the ripening. Who notices the little “our?” Companions converse!

A conversational matrix

To our good friends–

This morning I saw that there are three levels of conversation: surface, meaning, and being. Now I see them as perhaps overlapping universes, the surface and the being, and the overlap territory is meaning.

I also saw that there are these aspects to being: first, individual and group, separation and unity; second, growth and protection, opening and closing.

So where can we take those?

I can see a matrix of three dimensions, but keeping in mind and heart that these are not oppositions but wholes, perhaps better seen as circles which are whole, like where east and west meet on the globe: 1. individual—uniting; 2. opening—closing; 3. surface—being.

With this we can perhaps see where we are in the whole and where we then want to move to become wholer.

So on this cube we have 8 parts, one whole:

cube

So the interactions can be like this: Personal—opening—surface, which is typical chit-chat which we have. Perhaps closing would be the more typical. The more holistic would be uniting—opening—being. In between, lots of variation, lots of possibility. This is of course simplified, given the nature of reality.
Remember, the lines are not there. It is kind of like national boundaries seen from outer space: they do not exist, except in the minds of the people who think they are drawing lines.

Companions converse! I wrote. This is it, yes? Companions converse! Surface and being are not far apart, connected in fact they are by meaning. Let us swim in meaning and see if we can traverse the short distance to opening, uniting, being.

With you shot through, the all.

Our growing edge is towards joining, opening and being—and it is also towards separating, closing and surface. It is all there for us to be whole.

Do you see meaning in that?
