Time there is that is known in its quality
—absorption time
—boredom time
—15 minutes till quitting time

the family of life goes on
safety and security
—endurance
is in change & movement & growth

If the downtown
& businesses will prosper
from a new traffic flow
& if the city has few funds for it
then invite
Invite the businesses who’d profit
to contribute, to donate, for the project
those who benefit contribute
those who cannot benefit don’t

So if we are now in the great perturbance
ought we to shush and pat each other’s backs
or push us over the edge?

The babe cries
the young child babbles
the colt walks tottering
life ever & always
reaches to touch
and we
speak & write & go

We joke that Life is what happens when you are making other plans, Prepare to be surprised, Whatever happens is the only thing that could. We are surprised to find we are loved. Geniuses are the ones who surprise us. So here’s to surprise! And here’s to seeking it out! At the most inopportune times!

I saw that surprise—novelty, invention, quantum leaps, growth, death, birth—are the essence of the world. Stasis is death. Death is stasis. We know something is alive when it kicks. So I ought love surprise, seek it out!

Now I find surprise is the stuff of life

Surprise there ever was
Life abhors monotony
Life avoids steadiness

Surprise there must be
Life I am surprised to hear
Demands I give up my old hate
Turn to life
To surprise leapt

Swings the other
Each necessary
Both necessary
Where is dancing?

And so they are
—and are not—
the dance

We have interdependence (interplay), and interplay of interdependence, in that relation depends on units and units depend on relation. The whole is moving, dancing: living, amonging, birthing and dying: and so living on in the amonging and the birthing. The units are doing these things; so is the whole.

thus we birth
thus we “are”—and are not

Just letting the fat melt off me. How? By not eating for this moment. By getting busy.

How many leaves on
you, maple tree? Will you green
before turning brown?

We are becoming, we are growing, we are not stuck in a mud. Christ is of imagination: becoming, growing, doing what we can to make the beloved community a reality on this old planet. We have choices, and they daily revolve not so much around doing good versus doing evil as around doing something good versus just sitting there.
