Left behind seems based in fear
The left behind notion seems to be based in fear: believe what we say about God or you will be damned forever, left behind (us).

Hear the song with the refrain “Just for now:” hear the quantum parallels, for we are “here” just for “now.”
:- Doug.
See the quantum parallels to the mid-sized world of the everyday, to the spiritual and the person-al. We do come and go, just over greater “time” spans than the subatomic “particles.”

Meaning is transitory, illusory. It has value to us, to enfold us, to unfold us. This gives us freedom to make meaning, to reassign meaning, to live anew.

One of the things you learn in meditation/contemplation is that your thoughts come and go; they are not things; they are not you.

Maybe this is what Jesus was saying: if you forgive, you live in the always Now. If you love, you live, Now.
So Jesus is alive Now. It is ever Now. We are all in the one event field. It is the time-place to be alive.

Existence, standing out from the background (a useful and true picture), is really what subatomic physics and astrophysics are telling us goes on. It is all a field, and the things are knots in the fabric of the field, appearing, disappearing. Bohm’s metaphor of folding is understandable against this background. We are all against—flowing out of and into—this background. Relativity tells us then that the object and the field are one, the curvature of space time is the event, it does not occur in time, rather all at once, and even at once makes no sense. Eternity, as in time that runs on for ever, does not exist, but Now does, and I live Now, which is as close as any of us may get to “eternal” life.

No thing has absolute meaning. Only the ties, threads, betweens.

You decided. Before you decided, you saw it in your mind’s eye. How can you be sure you decided, you caused the action? Is there absolute meaning to cause and effect?

Space time and change inseparable
All things and events a unity

Your picture of God
The one you’ve got up for sale
Too small for my frame

An audience laughing and singing at a play is fuzzy. A family crying at a funeral is fuzzy. A physicist getting the equations of the latest theory is fuzzy. A nun in deepest contemplation is fuzzy. Our highest and best is fuzzy.

A lawyer can be compared to Einstein. Relativity, relativity said Einstein: everything depends on everything else. The lawyer says, It depends.

The faster something goes the more time it takes. As our communications increase, and increase in speed, our presidential campaigns start earlier and earlier. Notice that Congressional electioneering has approached continuous—that is, infinity.

The map is part of the territory
The map seeks to organize the territory
While reality likes the other way round too
