Intimate as a stranger. What can that mean?

The vision is that everybody has a well from which they can dip to get some cold, clear water.

What does the cold, clear water mean for your people? My interest is how we find our connecting points—our common aquifer—to help the world work for all?

We need to be about inviting social entrepreneurs into meaningful conversations leading to action.

Outside a tapestry
threads alone mean nothing
patterns come into being together

There are things we know together
though no one person knows
even after the meeting ends

Some only the meeting knows
together we can work on those

Fundamentalism is a disease. The harm done is at its root: by attending only to the basics, it prevents growth; it denies the Creator the right to continue creating.

Nor the words
nor the stories
nor the concepts

The magic is not in you alone
nor me alone
nor G*d alone
the magic is in the mixture

The middle is a little like this:
I have the skate, you have the key

together we both get—wet!

What are you doing that matters?

We will continue to see the world and those in it as our enemy until we engage with.

We need to disorganize the idea that people are the enemy.

There are those who say consciousness creates all we see. But what I see shows me a world created by many in communion of consciousness.

If people know what the choices are, they will make the right choices 98% of the time. Evil is not 50% of the world. Some need to fight for what is right and new but so must a chick struggle out of its shell into the world.

To get to 100% we have to get to 100%. All have to be invited. No one excluded. No one excepted because “She wouldn’t be interested.” No one not invited because he is too intimidating. To get to 100% we have to invite 100%. Whole-heartedly.

Of course, we cannot change people. People change themselves. We change ourselves. We change others by interacting with them, not by imposing ourselves on them, rather by exposing our most intimate selves to them. We change others by exchanging our stories, our truths. If you keep the argument at the level of concepts, you will keep the argument. If you move to the level of personal essence, then we stand a chance. We.

How do we include all those people? First, my view needs to widen enough to embrace all these world stances: to allow people who just want to follow to do so, to allow those who want to control a way to do so; to allow people to be whom they are and want to be. Second, an education challenge awaits: to bring people to a place where they can see others’ points of view.

Some want a world that works for 100% of the people—some not. The some not need to be exposed to the benefits of doing so. We cannot impose upon them, neither ethically nor in point of fact. But those of us who see it is possible can help others see what is possible—help them see another island-star upon which to stand—and this will move us toward critical mass.

So we invite more people, we tell the story more.

From Buckminster Fuller: “To make the world work for 100% of humanity, in the shortest possible time, through spontaneous cooperation without ecological offense or disadvantage of anyone.” That was the stated purpose of his World Game and Design Science. It got me to thinking: How can the world work for 100% of the people—through spontaneous cooperation?

Some will want to be creative—some not.

Some will want to argue—some not.

Some will want to cooperate—some not.

Some want to control—some not.

Some are ill—some not.

Some are mentally well—some not.

Some are good—some not.

Some want a world that works for 100% of the people—some not.

How do we include all those people?
