This perhaps is the root and stem of beauty. So grandparents show their grandchildren flowers and bugs and things of wonder. Arousing passions.

This perhaps is the root and stem of wakefulness and enlightenment.

We do not merely have each other to embrace, but to shake! We need passion.

What is the meaning of clocks and calendars for us on this blue planet? We see seasons repeat and look for seasons in our lives. We see days repeat and count them. We see freshness regularly and think of new starts. We see ends coming and hurry. Ends and seasons, freshness and repetition, second chances and life renewing: have these circles and cycles touched our hearts and beings?

We need not fear running out of money—the angst I have seen over and over again—How can I do what I love and still pay the bills? So we chase after the second part thinking it is the ground for the first and forget to love. In truth, love is primary: life flows from here.

This news addresses this angst: We can love—we are all we have to hold onto (money is empty without us—consider if you were the last person on earth and found an open bank vault), and in truth we are the ones we have been waiting for.

Once we see our role in mutual enacting, we are free to try things: to follow our heart and our heartache, to take responsibility for what we love. This is Alice’s first adventure in Wonderland: she goes into the rabbit hole and—the fall is so long and endless she relaxes and gets bored with it: she falls past cupboards & takes out a jar of orange marmalade, then puts it back on a passing shelf.

If we are “falling” or “suspended” in groundless space, then we can try new things we care about.

We find that all that does matter is what we care about. So compassion becomes the order of the day. The news to use: we are free to embrace.

Is it possible to know all these at the same time: person, vector, world?

What if compassion were not something to be learned or developed, rather only uncovered, freed?

Let us take things to scale—human scale.

There are two ways of seeing emergence: 1.) as coming from the pieces and systems present; and 2.) as being given existence by them.

The betweens might be part of what co-arises, or they might cause the arising.

So the path does not arise to meet the footsteps, nor the footsteps emerge from the path, but each brings forth the other.

Is it weak emergence: pre-existing persons creating a made to order world? Is it strong emergence: the setting and the persons and the work giving simultaneous birth to one another?

It probably can be whichever we choose to see at any given time.

What difference can all this make? It can give courage to act because we know that action is all there is and our actions will always bring something forth.

We can use this: bringing people together, putting them in the pressure cooker, adding a little heat (in the form of live questions). You don’t invite, no one will come, nothing will be doing. Invite me, I’ll show up, we’ll bring forth.
