What I can bring to families is more profound meeting of hearts and heads. What I can bring to public benefit groups is a faster way of getting hands and hearts and heads working together. What I can bring to organizers is help in that faster way, and a way to take their work to a truer essential life place.

What do I want to leave in this world? People opening space for the essential in life together.

Opening space for all the other people. Opening space for aging people. Opening space for environmental justice. Opening space for the unheard voices. Opening space for better food. Opening space for sustainability.

What is my gift to the world? It is my vision and my communication of that vision. That communication does not just mean telling, but engaging, getting people to do the vision, for the people to perform on earth.

The Way of conversation
is
the Way of all life.

What is my vision? A world working together, enlivened by each other, feeding and healing one another, carrying one another higher. Better stronger slower…. Engaged, peaceful, in continual motion.

When people practice deeply purely truly engaging each other—head heart and hands—in the part we have to play in our common life we shall for the first time in our generation be alive.

Let us uncover the personal/universal, touch the common and highest in us, our truest and best. This is like Blake’s divine human: our universal personal, our common best person, putting our common best heads hearts and hands to our part in feeding well this community.

Open space is about good heads, hearts, hands taking charge of our part.

perfection is not possible
but perfecting is
cure is not possible

We mourn because we thought we’d have them forever with us, and now they are gone. And yet, we have them, just not in the flesh. We have them in imagination, in the marks of their spirits on ours. But the pain, the pain comes in the loss of what we thought was static. Nothing is static.

That is no consolation for the person grieving—the only thing is to be there, be where they are and hold hands. Stand there, and face what they are facing, be the one who is connected with them and with life. And then that too is over.

And I do not know if that is what happens. I only know that it was important to me when people came and stood.

What is your rightful role?

Do I need to take my philosophy, my discoveries to the world? To ask is to answer.

These people, the ones we dismiss, have something to teach us.

Our world has no sharply defined boundaries; we cannot accurately measure the shoreline of a natural water because of constant evaporation and flows; we cannot say an animal stops at the skin because of respiration, perspiration and inspiration. We are more; we are morphing. We are process. We are above all life.

We remember the people who did things or said things. Why? Because this is the essence of life.
