Donnie cannot keep a thought. His mind jumps. Thoughts fly through. Zigging and zagging. Interruptions control him. How does he deal? Shouting. Outrageous actions. Anger at whomever is in his sights. Despite his disorder we ought to love him.

Most of our “conferences” are not. They are presentations of papers. They are “talkings-at.” There is precious little exchange of ideas no one had coming in. What if we designed such a coming together?

We begin as two cells—egg and sperm—and consciousness expands to our brand new toes and stomach and heart. Then one day we discover ourselves reversing course. Consciousness shrinks as legs and organs slow. Our spirits come back to the few cells still working—in our heads? Somehow we then grow larger than ever we were.
