It takes a longer preparation
It takes a longer preparation
as teens to pull away from parents
than it did to gestate
than to differentiate
yourself from kitty dog book glass
to define yourself by family tribe school
It takes a longer preparation
to seek a mate
to make a family
to provide for them to raise them
It takes a longer preparation
all that went before
to slow to see and taste
our community
and unity with all
to soften to gather to love
to lose and in that to gain
