What Jesus was doing:

What Jesus was doing: not letting people off the hook. Not allowing them to stay in It. Digging deep. Going to their essences. Buber might have wanted that narrow ridge, but the tugging he was doing was toward Thou, because people easily fall into the slough of It.

Footprints in the Windsm # 1503–Wholeness contains what fullness cannot:

Footprints in the Windsm # 1503

Embrace the world
as it is
void in metal and clay
makes spoon and bowl
wholeness stands in need
of what is happening
of what is not happening
and might
wholeness and fullness dance
remaining distinct
wholeness contains
what fullness cannot:
emptiness

Not a balance

Not a balance but a moving
back and forth—transiting—alternating
stuck is stuck—and deadening

That’s it!

That’s it—that’s it!
Jesus was asking for a specific response
From each person a meeting
From me
I can ask like from you

Waiting around for David

We have lost our vision
we wait around for David
who is not here
to give us our vision
but we could answer
whom are we here for?
what good do we want to do?

Surely we don’t want

We use words without thinking as deeply as is available to us. Take “Have a discussion” as an example. We could say “Let’s talk.” But “Have a discussion” sounds so much more substantial: it is formal, aloof, even academic. If we want to come together these are not what we want. Deeper, the roots of discuss suggest violence: percussion, concussion, surely we don’t want striking either.

Wind-blown these footprints

The drift’s the thing

The drift of my words is the thing, not the particular, not any one set of them, each is a leaf, but the grass is more.

reading uncle Walt again

Yes, I have been reading uncle Walt again. Yes, this goes beyond him, as one standing on my shoulders sees further than I.

Footprints in the Windsm # 1502–frightens me

Footprints in the Windsm # 1502

The words that float to the surface
Perhaps are the detritus
Leaving those behind I might go deeper
Maybe there is a calling beyond
Ripping
A word beyond words
Naked frightens me
