Why do retired people go on vacation?
Why do retired people go on vacation? What in our lives do we want to get away from? Or do we hope always for the new?

When you look you cannot see
G in that window, this puppy dog’s tail,
our bargaining for a used car
because to see G we’d need to back up
far enough to see it all
But we cannot do that for then
our eye’d be outside what it’s inside
:- Doug.
Let’s no longer call it “social media” for it is more important, profound and practical that that. Let’s call it the professional field when professionals are organically growing a community of practice, the activist field when we are making things happen, and the human heart field when we are making life easier for one another. When we see ourselves larger we are larger.
:- Doug.
It’s about justice but more than that
It’s so no one will be made to suffer
That we must converse about end of life
:- Doug.
Let me speak with those who are apt to accept
My invitation: those who share the heart

Einstein said something like
“There is only the field”
& we don’t know what a field is
So how can we live in such a world?
Openly my brother & sister, openly
:- Doug.
We get hung up on the word “government,” as if someone were imposing something on us or were a big rich uncle giving out candy. In our democracy it will pay to remember “government” is really us. It is our community, right down to the neighbor next door. Government is our churches, associations, fraternal and civic groups, and yes, our cities and states. Government is how we gather ourselves. It is how we decide to help our fellow critters—or hinder. Don’t let this word confuse you—choose whom you help and how much. Better, don’t choose. Help where and when you can.

“At hand” we were told
and we drew comforting pictures
of Heaven when really
we were missing the other part
gently accusing us—
showing us our plow
outstanding
in our field
without a hand
