Use your courage, use your heart

Use your courage, use your heart: Last night I took a support group a little deeper into the work of dying. They allowed me to take them there, they had some tears.

People are willing to go deeper if I am willing to honor that among them.

That is profound, but in a way not news: I have not engaged the courage to honor the transcendent among people. What I honor, others honor. Fear not, for people are of good will. It is not outside any of us: it is among all of us.

What is the meaning of person as person?

What is the meaning of person as person? If we are an onion, when we peel down, who are we? Maybe we are the intersection of all others in our life. A meeting of fields. Einstein: All there is is field. Maybe. What else might we be? A center of doing and being, of activity and energy. A gathering of people we knew and what we have done. An embrace. A field of love. Love. A focus of love in and love out. Arms of divinity.

Some say death

Some say death is an individual thing. I think otherwise—we cannot extirpate person from his or her ground. Family is a flexible idea, including all who profoundly touch and are touched by the person.

A profound opportunity in death

A profound reason I invite folks to hear each other about approaching death is the opportunity that death gives us all to grow. I don’t want people robbed of their completion.
