The baby coos and gurgles / We smile / ….

The baby coos and gurgles
We smile
The old man coos and gurgles
We cringe
For one we have been there
And know what joys lie ahead
For the other we fear we may know
Something else that is ahead
Yet we cannot
Can we be joy just here?

….live and pay no attention to our regrets: live the most we can, each now.

If we die and there is no more, then our regrets die with us. If we die to a heaven or a hell, then our regrets are forgiven in heaven or expanded in hell. If love is the most basic dimension of the all there is, then there are no regrets and therefore no hell. So we should live and pay no attention to our regrets: live the most we can, each now.
