a baby’s true name

In some cultures the true name of the child is not announced, so that it can grow strong, and not be laughed into smallness by the outside world. We need to guess our own power name, and that of those with whom we walk.

sunsets, flowers and babies

sunsets, flowers and babies
tornadoes, hurricanes, tsunamis and
people helping
heart motions, spirit swells
the paired parts of this human
civilized and wild
what do you want, and what does the deepest part of you desire?

We are here to do deep work
To do deep work, we must hear
…one another

Life is two

Life is two:
double
dual
paired
Here we live:
safe & wild
mean & gracious
laughter & tears
Hear, we live

Life is not competitive

Life is not competitive. There is competition within life to be sure, but it is within cooperation: to advance life.

From a cliff she leaps

From a cliff she leaps
the pearl diver
maybe the height helps
her dive so deeply
so quickly
nearly naked with only a knife
if we are to dive into each other
and find the pearls
from what high cliff do we leap?

call together those who do not look the same

Can we stretch one another? Kindly, gently? Is there a way to call together people who do not look the same, who share only breath, and invite them, invite us, to share more?

Good all about us

There is good all about us, even in those with whom we disagree. Can we engage each other and not vilify?

respect the pain of older ones

I respect the pain of the older ones; I cannot always alleviate it. This is the difference between caring and care. I respect the beauty of each soul, and seek to hear it out into the open.

sniff its beauty, respect its pain

What is it important to meet about? Every creature around us needs us to sniff in its beauty, to respect its pain.

A feral power inbred in us
& between & among us
When we own it we walk forward
Whole

We cannot hold up a doll and say this is God, because whatever we say is incomplete.

hides and asks us to seek

G*d is one who hides and asks us to seek. Or is our milieu so present as to be forgotten.

To retire means to withdraw from active life; why do that?

When too much info is too little

In writing about legal or medical topics there is a danger of giving too much info which is at the same time too little. The danger arises from transferring fact without nuance. Truism without truth can kill. Info without understanding of the web within which it exists can do great harm. The direction we need heed is wholeness.
