The universe is streaming mutually. Everything is moving. Everything is moving toward or away from everything else.

Mainly the universe is streaming in relating. We touch another, we are touched, we shrink or reach out more. Reaching out is the only way the universe grows, we become more.

Perhaps, I wondered this morning, G*d is the action we call relating. Verb. Adjective. Less noun. So we are in the betweens, we are the betweens creating each of us. Nothing exists in this universe all by itself, but only in the light of many.

Whom are you invited,
to love,
today?

What does it mean to be invited of God?

:- Doug.

The drop falling
is made one
with the ocean
the contemplative
one with divinity

What I love about the Quakers is that they are doers of and participate in God. You go to worship and you do not merely sit in the audience: you and all with you are on the stage, in the action, expected and expecting to speak your lines and do your part. Each of us is by turns theologian, preacher, care-giver, care-receiver, counselor, friend.

Now some breezes move the tree leaves they dance with their unseen partners and a butterfly keeps her own time for them the water the water waves in friendly response while the grasses bask in the sun and the shadows mark old Sol’s movements.

Imagine the orbs
as spirits of those who went before
& those who come after
their twinkling when they come & go
being a speaking to us
if we would attend
or maybe signifying nothing but their travel
through space & time
their endless & growing number
moving in redshifts
might tell us
true is some of our imagination

In business do we trust
For to us they sell
Solvation

“Solutions”
businesses offer us
but I don’t want
to be liquefied
dispersed homogeneously
in a gas, liquid, or solid
my life is not a problem
or a knot to be untied
I see your word

I want to gag
My life is paradox
threads to be woven in
love
the result a
living, ever-growing
tapestry
our own

a bottle
wishes unlimited

—granting no wishes)
feed your belly
feed your greed
no accountability
demands one way only
in our time
this is
our god

Life is to enjoy, to live, or it would not be a gift. Life is a gift. Hard times, good times: perhaps there is a way to enjoy them all.

Are we using the Bible
as a tool of love & embrace or
as one of hate & driving away?

Are we pleased
—do we rush out—
to help
an other
or do we denigrate
—spit upon—
those less fortune-ate
than we?

Is the day round
or the year?
Or is it simply on which we stand:
this sphere?
Or is there more to the
roundness
we experience?

For a bird
For a squirrel
Is life hard,
or a lark?
I suspect
they’d consider
Life is life

When we change our choices, it is often that something new informs the criteria upon which we base our choices: our fundamentals have remained constant.

When we seek to hold off death
are we extending suffering?
Do we increase the length of pain?
Could we increase what’s good in death?
What do we value?
Consciousness, control of pain,
interchange with family, friends,
spirituality, religion, music,
ritual, touch, nature?

This morning abed
contemplating
my mind wandering, dreaming

Come home, come home
I see snow flakes
roiling, rising
Up
up from the ground
up from our ground

I have more friends than ever I realized

Is dying important?
Is being born?
Is how we die important?
Important for what?
For whom?
