that ties the universal together

There is something about the intimate that is universal. In literature it is known as microcosm-macrocosm. In this intimate-universal is our larger.

A single thread spun by a spider spans the intimate and the universal.

Stewardship is not about merely caring for something and returning it unchanged and unharmed: can we do a positive good?

Humans connect the particular with the absolute. We are as at home in the numbers and Dollars and athletics as in the soaring spirit. Include and embrace!

We think we are free and we are not. True freedom is not of the movement of our feet, hands, and mouth but of the infinite within.

When we do or say something from habit, it is a clue we are not thinking.

Picture an asterisk, sitting with the rays a few degrees off the cardinal points. One continuum moves from Individual to Collective, the next from Larger to Particular, another from Things to Flow. This is our matrix, the lap in which we act, think and rest. Our rays spread light in all directions; we connect them.

This is one universe. Therefore you are in some way one with that tree, I am in some way part of that fish and it part of me, and we are in some way related to stars, quarks, and dark matter. Let us look for the ways.

We are all one, with the ones we love, with the ones we loathe, with the ones who loathe us. Science and psychology, chemistry and politics, religion and biology: all one.

Others are as integral as any of us are. Not our sect is integral but yours is not. We are all necessary. Even 4-footed, finned, no legged, rooted, and all the rest. Planets and stars, winds and light, darkness and soundlessness.

Let’s attend the quality of our being and of our inter-relating. These are foundational to our family flourishing.
