Our sharing should be based upon having fun together, not transferring our wisdom down the line. We ought if we cannot yet find the fun, then share our ignorance. Laughing at ourselves will carry us along.

We can experience wonder thro’ our friend, like Rachel Carson thro’ her grand nephew Roger.

There’s one more place I want to visit together: the lands of together and of the eleventh generation.

What ever came out of a relationship? Well, then, think long: What can come out of a conversation?

But this together is the two of you. And this together is plural you with this person from the eleventh generation.

It is hubris to think you can change the course of your ascendants. Your influence is in your relationship—person to person—you can together shape persons—by discovering them, for one.

up and down generations, conversing

Our ancestors challenge us—thro’ their writings, thro’ their scriptures, thro’ their words we heard while growing, thro’ our own walks in woods noisily silent, thro’ the clouds and blue and grey skies. What makes us think we cannot—ought not even try—to challenge our ascendants?

What do the generations draw you to feel, think, remember, imagine? Develop a conversation with the generations, meet them, be of the same substance, exist in your lives and change because of this new relationship. If you can change, if you can change, maybe they can too. Small ways, not even steps.

We have the ability and the responsibility to make persons. Conversation is a way. We can make persons out of generations. We can stretch our reach.

About my word-finding: Do I need to worry? No. What will be will be. Need—what is that? Do I need to hurry? No, no. Go at the rightful possibilities for each thing that comes up. Can the path be affected? If so, how good an idea is that?
