growing smaller

We may grow out of small things, sperm and egg, although we are not made of them; rather the small is an outgrowth of the whole. The larger whole, the body, is imprinted on the cells, and they grow from that not to that.

What if the subatomic particles “of which all matter is made” were the other way around? These non-things are the end case, made of the larger matter, like an arm grows out of a body? Matter ephemeralizes, is a non-thing, disappears, appears? Matter, space, and energy interwoven? The small the outgrowth of the large?
