My mind this morning was insistent on thinking! I practiced watching my breath for about two hours in bed. I only probably watched a couple dozen breaths or so! And the things I thought: things I had not thought in years, or even brand new things. Most inconsequential or worries or things to do. Keep practicing!

Teaching discovery is evocative for me, leads me on. This way I can learn from all others, help all others. Inner discovery, conversational. Meeting one another in the profounds.

Simply use less words, not stepping on their paths, inviting by spirit and presence. Have patience that there is depth meeting in there and that it will out.

The teacher stands unmoved, offers sparse words, opens way. Student finds path.

Start on the way, hazard new transformations, accept deaths and some rebirths, every day.

Bring me toys if I get to experience dementia. As I progress backwards through my decades, bring me things to occupy my happy moments: travel brochures when I am again in my 50s, tax return forms and calculators when I am reliving my 40s, nails and two by fours for my 30s, books for my twenties, cameras and magic tricks for my teens, chess pieces when I am 10, potholders and blocks when I am again under 5.

Do we dare wish to travel the road to death? Can we be curious—even supremely curious—about it?

If we see ourselves not as objects rather as the flow of a great conversation—and integral to the conversation as well—how does that change us? Do we become possible? Do we touch the controls? Are we any more the center of the universe, and yet in a larger way more at its center?
