What is the essential thing for Dad and for the family in the face of Dad’s life as it is now? Essential for Dad: medical care? Custodial care? Working through the 47 things and perhaps spiritual or religious or psychological or sociological issues? Essential for family: to do for Dad? To nurture their relationship with Dad? To make memories? To kill themselves with overwork and stress? To develop relationships among themselves?
