The thing about humans and life
we don’t often know what the puzzle is

If time were a planet
and past and future all around

There is a simultaneity about us, an ahead and behind meeting in a now bigger than we may be willing to know.

I’m on a search
for grandchildren
are you one?

:- Doug.

People are about hives
meeting makes human
words are about handling
stemming from our root
to embrace to caress

:- Doug.

In familiar ways
we are all
grandchildren of life

:- Doug.

There are few if any films of communities of people. Our film heroes are concentrated on individuals. What if?

:- Doug.

Here’s a picture that to me feels true: I yawn to get oxygen or some similar element into my system. I sleep to do the same: yawning is a desire it may be for oxygen.

We may not see the future
but we can think about it

:- Doug.

Wind is one thing we are likely yet to have with us. And waves. Probably light. These are bubbles to keep and stretch our conversings.

The Saturday Wows

Some there be who swim upstream
to these we are thankful

Even this flow of music
nearly wrote itself
—although it asked me
to paddle
here and there
