“The streets were made of music.” All it takes is the hint of an accent—or in this case, of magic—to carry people to a far place. Not even much of a wink. Lesson found, and I want to say, learned.

A cauldron moment—one which told me something of myself and maybe turned my view of life, was when I was just old enough to run a power lawn mower: red, with a cord you wrapped around and pulled 4 times to start it. My mother looked out the door and said, “You’re wasting gasoline again! Start mowing and stop day dreaming!” Years later I began to own that reverie and reflection were part of me.

Now I find myself wondering (and wandering) if there is a timeless way of doing human of which we regularly and overwhelmingly lose the scent and music.
