Not apart–cosmic

G*d is not apart from you
G*d is a part of you
G*d is not separate from you
but interwoven
So if you see G*d out there,
fixing things for you
making your life go this way or that,
be kind
Remember, G*d is not separate,
out there, foreign
But of your essence
here with you
intimate
Nor are you separate, apart
G*d’s shalom is cosmic

Jesus did not die for our sins

Jesus did not die for our sins
Jesus died for people
Jesus died for people’s freedom
From guilt
Nor did Jesus die to be sacrifice for our sins
It was the other way around—Jesus died
To sacrifice his life that we sacrifice ours
Jesus never said “Your sins—will—
Be forgiven” he said “Your sins—are—
Forgiven” He showed us what a life
full lived looks like
G*d did not demand a ransom to save our hides
—What kind of god do you believe in?—
The life full lived was to prove we
Can live full

her evil sister

A preacher in his chambers entertains
Sin and her evil sister, Guilt
Sin does he care little for
Guilt he does with eyes adore
On Sin they close the boudoir door
To bring forth those things that G*d abhors
Chains & Fetters—his congregation’s slavers

Weave me!

Weave me! Make me part of the weave, integral. Bend me, twist me, knot me! If I break I am still whole! I live for ever!

Based upon fear of its people

Our society is based upon fear of its people. Leaders of governments fear the “chaos” of people actually talking with each other—they may take control of their community! So limited access is the rule. Representative democracy is limited democracy.

How do we get beyond this? What about people who will vote their fears, will not open their vulnerability and truly meet? The answer has to come from the people, because the people is all we are, all we will ever have. That is to say, let’s work out that tough question and all others we may have in the only way that works: together. I will not win; you will not win: we will both be changed. There is a way.

Woe, woe upon us

Woe, woe upon us
our soul is dying within us
we are killing it. Grief!
killing our soul with our incessant judging
excluding hating warring pushing away
failing to meet singing songs of rape
pushing our children! and ourselves
for accomplishment, as if life were contest
and someone might get ahead of us to the grave
We can choose to live embrace meet converse
include hear speak work love
make change

some conversations respiration

What happens in some conversations is a respiration: We have a deep conversation which plants seeds deep in us; we go about our day, and suddenly a sprout or even a flower!; then we take the green or scented being back to conversation and plant more seeds in us, in others, in betweens, and on the circle rolls. It is not individuals, nor meetings, but intertwined.

What good is vision?

What good is vision? It helps us work toward what matters, toward change that brings about the wholing of the world. It brings justice and being heard to every voice. It makes a world that works for all.

This will ever be a problem to address, one we can never solve, since conflict leads to transformation leads to new conflicts to address, new deaths and resurrections.
