Why choose names?
I’m on to something. Why do I insist on giving it names of my choosing?

Maybe the next station will be an easy relationship—“Hi, old friend. Sit a spell.”

We are integral
to all there is
doing fascinating
being fun
functionable artfully
processual
meaning-fully

It’s not about learning something one or both of us can use; it is about being together.

Poetry is elusive, a pick axe. Are those two different metaphors? One is mitten, the other glove.
:- Doug.
Poetry ought leave us uneasy. Unease is holy, other. Ease is same, unholy.
:- Doug.
Harmony may be the result and gift of gathering, but probably cannot be sought.
:- Doug.
It is not the sense of the Meeting about anything, even a decision, but the sense as the home.

To me they are tangled merely
but no one knows what merely is

Weaving creates a potholder not there before and is of the two composed. The difference to gathering is that when the two are removed from the frame, the beauty and the utility goes home with each of them, and yet exists in the world for others to use.

Intersubjectivity is a condition for gathering, a base, a vase.

My other “faces” me with more than his or her face: with his or her life. Here and now shows up body and essence, full attention, leaning in.

We get into impoverished territory in conversing and in writing, in story and in singing, when we commit to words too soon. The wind and the song, the notion and the moon, must be allowed to season longer than we wish. Wait. The words will ripen if it is right to do so. Together, we can encourage each other to pause, longer. We don’t need words as much as gathering.
