Elders are poised to be For the Grandchildren: financially ok, well educated, healthy, other-oriented, diverse.

With a POA we are opening a door to better caring; we are closing a door to those who might not make the best choices.

Choice. We have. Choose riots and protest, death and looting. Choose letting forces of hate and division have their day. Choose a third way, without trail marked for us, loving for all fragile life’s sake.

Old people are like lawyers: we tell disparaging jokes about them as a class, but we love our own.

What do we have to give the grandchildren? It is not up to us to determine how they receive it. Simply put it out there.

Living, even part time, For the Grandchildren can be an art form. So too with the grandchildren we can create a play form.

Not everybody becomes an elder; not every moment can you be an elder; but you can be by moments, grandchild by grandchild.

The whole meaning of our culture is wrapped up in how we culminate lives, how we see elders, treat them. These are us.
