Oddity or edges?
Is the growth of the elders about oddity? Or edges?
:- Doug.

Storytelling is more than telling stories. It is your why that matters. If you are doing it for your own reminiscing, if you are doing it out of love for your hearers, whatever reason is yours, your hearers will know. They will be bored in one instance, love you back in another. Get your why on straight and you will make a difference for someone.
Please pass it on.

For growing comes with old
We’ve/Weave a story yet to be told

Lawyer, POAs are not primarily about the words in your form, but about the elder in your focus.

If we are to have a life worth living we must first live our full worth.

standing in the shoes

The trajectories of elders are diverse: some produce flowers, others hugs, others fireworks, some approach the heavens.

Elders do not have the whole panorama: they do have and ought share their vistas. They do not prepare the whole feast: do make some of the best dishes.
:- Doug.
The somes of elders:
Some hug the grandchildren
Many hear them out
Some are activists
Writers poets playmates
Some unable to walk talk think
show us how to receive love
Or in their tiny rooms
care for the cosmos
provide the still point for focus
Untroubled ascend the heights ahead of us

This last poem has not yet coalesced, but there it is: the bud about to open, the colors hinting.

Less being and more about meaning making and finding—in a life examined and examined again, a society, a species too—examined for what is to be savored, what possibilities might be explored. Plumbing is our word, plumbing depths, sounding ever deeper, asking Why, and yet again Why not?
:- Doug.
Old age batters and breaks only the powers of youth: it mounts its own new powers.
