As if dead
Lie down as if you were dead. Hum, make sounds, vibrations—as if they were coming from the earth, from the generations before you and after.

We, especially we elders, are in a position to change the core mythos toward getting along, helping one another, actualization, caring, and communion.
:- Doug.
I don’t want you to have thoughts; I want you to think! To have thoughts is also to be had by thoughts.

Nearness is a good word for me to think about: it suggests communion as well as approximation, and indeed communion seems to suggest approximate knowing of another.

What about books? These are often the products of a writer saying I will think. Then, I think. Then writing down thoughts, already digested. So it comes out fast, is recorded memory made conscious.
Books and all writings are recorded thoughts, whether of the scribe or unfolded from others or the implicate order.

This idea from Bohm (it is in my dictionary too) that thoughts are the product of thinking has me this morning. These are accustomed by-ways that move much faster than thinking. Thinking is work. Thoughts get in the way, try to pull us away from thinking. Thoughts are much easier to navigate than thinking.
Thoughts and ideas are in the air, they travel from one to another, take us over. This is part of the meaning of culture and the source of its power.
Can we free ourselves to think? Can we see where we are caught in some sticky substance, like gum on our shoe, but stronger and on both shoes? Can we suspend thought long enough to think?
Quickly and deeply the groove is cut. Even this one.
