Substance
The earth &
The stars &
Your soul
One substance
:- Doug.

Our dreams direct us
and what our times are dreaming
is money over soul
:- Doug.
The new dream
or old, wrong, right:
The one we hold
points us
Unimaginable riches,
long retirement full of play
our culture chooses;
We could have had life
another dance with our love
another walk on the beach
another hug of our grandkids
:- Doug.
It is useful
to the whole
as long as it is from your essence

“Are we going to be OK?” Tom Brokaw says that was the common questions interviewers asked him about his 50 year career reporting the world’s news. Isn’t that what we all want to know? Isn’t that a service you as elder can provide younger generations, to answer that question for them? Are we going to be OK?

Concentric circles have the world
Silence, openness, pregnant void, deep sleep
Yielding to dream then to waking really sleeping
Splashing waves grow smaller so we slumber on
Throw another stone!
:- Doug.
Being already imminently divine
We enact the work of destiny
The seeds being beyond the named and measured
:- Doug.
So what life are we living? Seems to me we are living all possible lives, and have chosen as we have gone.

Joseph Campbell writes of the cosmogonic round of coming from the deepest through the dream to waking and then returning in reverse order.
Wonder if this says something of dementia, where people forget in reverse order? They are maybe just more visibly in the cosmogonic round than we (who are not so blessed) are. They might know they are doing the work, or they might not. Interesting. It is at least a parallel and maybe a reminder to us.

Enjoying Campbell’s Hero. It is taking me to deeper places, to the unknown silence, to the mind “continually insulted and shocked out of the assurance that now, at last, it has understood,” to seeing the sun and moon and stars as eyes of the heavens, to the sea of night that refreshes, to the timeless void out of which all flows and to which all flows again, to larger, larger, to O Wonderful, O Wonderful, O Wonderful.
