Footprints in the Windsm # 1672–Gunsmoke

Footprints in the Windsm # 1672

While I was eating last night, one diner kept telling people his elation at the day’s political news. One guy he was talking to said that there might be a change in state law to allow “someone like me” to carry a concealed weapon without a license. At that, this diner got up with his back turned to me, and held open one side of his coat.

This frightened me. What is it about this quiet Thai restaurant that makes someone so afraid he must carry a weapon? How much does the presence of a weapon increase the chances of gunsmoke? Or bravado leading to gunplay?

I don’t think I want to go to that restaurant again, nor perhaps even that town.

Mistake to call us “older adults”

Don’t make the mistake of calling us “older adults” for we are more than adults grown older: we are in a different development of life—psychologically, and for some of us, spiritually.
