We do not converse
We do not converse, not because we are frightened by it, so much as we are lazy.

You cannot manage conversation. That’s why it will be forever disconcerting to people with closed minds or frozen hearts.

Footprints in the Windsm # 1518
The issue our country is having, the issue our people is having is we are pulling apart. There is little tugging us to any sort of home, little heart to our culture. We are e unum pluribus. We see our differences, we scream at each other. When we talk, we talk at, and withhold the final decision about whether the other is person or simply combatant, contestant, competitor. When we drive, we drive among these 3 Cs. Anger is the energy of the day.
So our task needs to be to find our heart, our home, our essential relatedness. Soft, gentle, reliable. To help us all come together.
Please pass it on.

Dust by dust
Mingling our destiny

This is when we should them hallow
For empty is the greater part of whole

Conversation makes a goalite nervous
Possibilities multiply and run off

of politicians and advertisers
bidding us to buy without thinking

Small talk is comfortable to our society
(Increasingly not to me)
Increasingly taking us away
From getting good done
From productive conversings

Is your mind versatile?
Can you make a good turn?
Let us travel to Eutropelia.
:- Doug.
We have tried pushing away and putting away those who are angry, disaffected, living on our margins. To what effect? It only provokes, makes them hate. Maybe we could try finding out about them, hearing out them, bringing in them. This is scary because we may see the unfamiliar ones as familiar, may even question our ingrained thoughts. The danger: we may laugh. At ourselves.
:- Doug.
Conversing becomes poetic
Using dense words
And no words
Travels know woods
Tasting growing coulds
O how I love
Conversing growing poetic!

We are not made up
of fingernails and
belly buttons
but they of us
in the same way God?]

Five thousands of leaves
On this little maple!
How many and finely your receptors

These ordinary people around us
here, in this place,
are richly complex, teeming

Staying in the deeps: here there be life, here there be tunnels, currents, growing.

Most do not see from larger
This will take patience long
And kindliness
Computers are fixed or replaced
Friends unfold

The shell between us is thin
in places and thick
If it does not crack here….
