our time’s content
ought to be discontent

Why at end of life do we make poor decisions? There are several issues interrelated:
1. we don’t anymore know when someone is dying;
2. we want to hang on to life, but we have not thought about what living is for us;
3. we do not know why we want to hold on to life, what tasks we want to complete;
4. we think we can get back to life as it was 5 or 10 years ago;
5. we think science can overcome death, if not now, then in a few days, if not for others, then for us.
What others?
In the face of not knowing, how then would be best for us to prepare ourselves?
Please pass it on.

A big problem of humankind is our straight line thinking things will keep on as they have even though they were quite different four years ago. Economics, health, family: all dominated by the unchanging straight line. We could think, or even observe, and know better.

I am wondering whether it is worthwhile to push to look for insights. Can I see more when I am looking? Be careful you let the seeing see itself and let in what comes from sideways on.
