A power for healing
For new futures

A touch of holiness
There is no thing holy
There are only

Conversation’s ways

Silence is another form of conversation.

There you move!
So you must be moving
When someone opposes me
—Is it I? Is it she? We?

In meeting rooms we take
A chair with one open between
Do other cultures, too,
Avoid crowding another
Or are there some who
Value gathering close?
Trees stand together
Unless we plant them otherwise

Sometimes it profits us
To listen
For what is not

Traffic outside!
Toddlers scattering things!
God’s movements are noisy
Getting in the way of what we’d rather
Shh, listen to life’s rathers

Sit a spell near me
See what I have not seen

:- Doug.

Continually I spiral about you
Frustrated by my attempts to grasp you
Until I see:
“You” and nouns are
Powerless to contain you
