This is to where I work
The heart of conversation
this is where I work
this is to where I work
:- Doug.

The heart of conversation
this is where I work
this is to where I work
:- Doug.
Fifteen feet into the air
Plume travels South to North
After a minute I see
The person walking behind
A snow blower
Hebrews saw a pillar leading
:- Doug.
G the shape-shifter
A wisp of smoke
A friend
All this
In love allow
Others to hold shape of
Friend, Father, Mother,
Lover, Fertile field,
Whatever works for them
Allow myself, too,
The form I need
Or that touches me
In any moment
G has no single form
Rather all possible forms
And then some
If you hold Jesus as friend
God as ruler of the universe
Or no images at all
All is well
:- Doug.
The power of goal-setting distracts us into too-small work, keeping us from larger and whole-making efforts within our grasp.
:- Doug.
Goal-setting is a second-best for purpose, direction, a consuming work: it is the minor leagues.
:- Doug.

When you visit me
in my sick bed
you are breathing life & health
upon meWhen you pray for me
you are stirring the air
wisping around meWhen you think of me
movement starts my way
Please pass it on.

Even when
the leopard did not spring
it is good
to sit by
alertness is
not always required
:- Doug.
Our world we see
—and create something new
Our world we see
—and ask Why? How?
Our world we see
—and seek for meaning and love
Technology, knowledge, and intimacy
We seek and bring
The finest gift we’ve been given is
Our seeking, dissatisfaction,
Need
:- Doug.
Where
Opposites sprout
Poles intermingle
Is the source
Of the energy
:- Doug.
Why do I invite people together more than to pull apart? Do I intuit that we are in times of separating?
:- Doug.
How do we become more conscious?
Circumspice
Love one another
Here the clues
Play leap frog
Borrow of each other
Catalysis
Betweening and amonging
Emerging from collectives
Beyond circles spirals ever
:- Doug.
What then?
The question
We would avoid
Call in the experts
Get drunk on goals
Or other idols
What then?
:- Doug.

How to write a poem:
Walk us along the
Flowered & thorny path
Then in the last line
Hand us clippers
From gravity
To cut us free
Please pass it on.
