How do we notice when conversation becomes thinking? How do we get on this conveyance?

Many thoughts in this world

There are many thoughts in this world
& I would have us together
Converse our way to the deeper

The squirrel is collecting acorns

The squirrel is collecting acorns, the little butterfly collecting whatever little butterflies collect. Bouncing, bouncing in the light breezes. The sun is smiling and God is happy to spend this moment with me.

In the cool air, communing together

Driving this late summer morning I had the windows down and enjoyed the sun and cool air, seeing this as communing together with divinity. Pleasant!

We are a fear of freedom society:

We are certainly a fear of freedom society: we fear to let those we lead take leadership for their own hours, let alone lives.

not your depths

My depths are not your depths, nor are ours theirs. I want people to find their own depths and betweens, not mine. So it is essential I not direct so much as only invite.

Are we fire, howling wind, mother’s lap?

We meet
We spiral
We meet
Encountering
We still
Don’t know
Are we fire,
Howling wind,
Mother’s lap?

What claim do we have on each other?

What claim do we have upon each other: as family? as Friends? as citizens? as humans? What special claim does God have on us? And we on God?

A right to be heard by our families?

Do we have a right to be heard by our families about end of life? By ourselves? Do we have a right—a freedom—to live as we wish up to our last breath? What is the lawyer’s role in this?

Special claim

Jesus’ special claim upon his audience was in meeting each as his Thou. The rich young man, the five thousand, the woman at the well—all and each were met—and called to meet. As we are called today, now, here.

The special claim is for them not from them.

God does not add up

G*d does not add up
is not a sum of anything
not made of but makes up

My eye cannot keep up

My eye cannot keep up
with the white butterfly
nor count the dance steps
of the leaves
G*d is ever moving

How sacred it is to converse!

How sacred it is to converse! We can converse in ways beyond words, and perhaps some of us will use these times to simply share presence to one another, to move, dance, draw, journal, sculpt, touch, laugh, cry, to be with. This is sacred space-time.
