A truth elusive

There is a mystery to be explored, a truth elusive.

We are the mystery and part of a larger mystery. The depth will never be plumbed, and that is the fun part.

We are part of each other, part of the mystery of each other.

It is our job to embrace all of life: embrace, engage; people and other beings as well as things. It is our joy, our fullness as well.

Pray not

Be within the flowing
of our world
Pray not
to
God pray
with
with the birds
with the grasses
with the ponds
with the people
among whom you walk

Shh. Yes, you are fragile

Shh. Yes, you are fragile
No, that is not all right
But you are as all of us
& together & alone
We get to where we can
There is strength here too
Among us

Once we meet all we are whole

Once we meet all we are whole. Of course there is always another to meet, another aspect of ourselves to unearth, to infinity. To be met in ourselves and others is light and dark and mystery. That is the whole story, the story still writing itself.

The central parts of life:

These are the components of the heart of us, our growing essence (we do not so much want to meet our original selves, but who has grown out of them): we have both light and dark, evil and good, but the light and the good prevail. Thus, the philosopher’s heart (not stone) is engaging ourselves. We need to engage each other because without one another we are not. Hearing, meeting, engaging: these are the central parts of life and once we meet all we are whole.

Footprints in the Windsm # 1190–look away from computer screen

Footprints in the Windsm # 1190

I see more when I look away from my computer screen and out the window. I see leaves and grass and pond; nature and green and blue. A leaf is waving Hi to me, and the pond water is wrinkling the corner of its eye to me. Friend, a beautiful fall day and here you are in the many-tinted world outside my window. Look up, look out, wink to me.

The bedrock of humanity

I have found the bedrock of humanity
& it is not and never was a rock
rather a pulsing heart
pumping out inner space
infinite
places & spaces & lives to explore
& invent & engage
pumping out stars & black holes
holding pain and abiding happiness
& what if the stars & black holes we see
out there were some one’s in here?

Wrestle with life!

Do you want to live? Meet!
Hear another! And be heard!
Write poetry to hear your own voice!
Engage our world for its betterment!
Find a mystery to chew upon!
Risk your soul for your soul!
Tell a paradox about truth!
Wrestle with life! Exercise it!
