Footprints in the Windsm # 1037

“Hearing anything?”
“You.”
“Me?!”
“Your breathing. Your heart beating. Your stomach gurgles. Your spirit.
“Your large-as-the-worlds-that-be spirit.
“Your tiny hard-shelled ego within your spirit. Your meandering thoughts within your spirit.
“Your large-as-the-worlds-that-be spirit within your community of like spirits.
“I’m hearing you.”

Simply Thou and I:

Friend, you are life. You are the life, this life, this one life, this only life. You I seek to meet more and more, to commune with. I want no mediation between us, simply us between us, simply Thou and I. And you then are in the meeting of others, others who have their views of you, who can help us all catch glimpses of you. Friend, come to me, I will come close, I will move toward you, open to you.

….The more life grows, the more it comes together.

There is movement. There are betweens. All touch others. All together are creation. There is but one life…and that life touches and is touched. Life crawls over the seething mass of life and moves toward its food: other life. Life needs life in order to go on. Life feeds on itself and generates more of itself. Life expands, grows outward, cycles, moves. Human life is more than the plants and animals it feeds upon: human life needs some other kind of food, which also comes from life. The more life grows, the more it comes together.

…a gentle way to get past ossified thinking….

“Have you ever thought of….” is a gentle way to get past ossified thinking and open some space. The idea of course is to open some space.

We are imperfect because we are incomplete/I pray we never be complete/….

We are imperfect because we are incomplete
I pray we never be complete
For then we die eternally

So let us seek each day to fit
The world to our several hearts
Or our hearts to the moving world
& so discover fresh anew our unending life

Open the container of true conversation/peer inside—what is it?/….

Open the container of true conversation
peer inside—what is it?
intimate—inviting into and out of a part of you you don’t often get to show
reflective—the spaces between give us the notes
responsive—pledging, plying, enfolding
meeting—raw side to raw side
exploring—to find the story we share
acting—out of our shared depths
mattering—for us & for our community
opening—to silence & emptying ourselves

Where activists live

Activists—people who get things done—more than most people, live in conversation. Conversation is not just how they get things done, it is life itself, how the doing gets them, and round and round.
