The new trans-humanity: work parties, not foregone conclusions

The new trans-humanity will be coming together, will be becoming one, with very individual knobs and fingers and hands reaching out, working the world into something beyond anything that we have thought human before. It will be a world where persons matter, where spirit matters. We will see that our logic and our reason are grand tools—to be utilized by our spirits. And we will find that we have one spirit, many hearts, many hands. Body will be important, and we will be in touch with all of us.

This then is vision to work towards. Not a foregone conclusion of what it inevitable. It is our destiny, but it is meeting ennui and outright resistance. We are not opposing what is evil nor what is not working in our culture: we are inviting to the work party.

Footprints in the Windsm # 958

What if the trees were alive
& you & I
& between us these shimmering spaces
rocks & roadways & spinning moons—
whom could we be & what could we do?

This Red Adair fans the fires

This Red Adair is not about putting out fires, but fanning them. It is about disorganizing, because what we have organized was for the old humanity, and that is passing away, we are coming anew, and we need new ways of seeing and relating with each other. No longer do we respond to mass mailings and speeches at us; we need to be involved. This is the energizing that is going on: to say that we not only can be but ought to be and want to be engaged. No longer are we Its and collections of Its who can be organized to march and force people against their wills. No longer are we a large number of people, a mob, a crowd. No longer are we consumers of things or ideas. We are persons, we are individuals, we are meeting each other.

We are evoking a new species:

We are evoking a new species. We have never been here before, and where we go from here is our choice.

…in the cracking open…genesis…

It is precisely here, in the cracking open, that genesis takes place. There is a space, and a seed, and nutrience, and a reaching for the light, which calls to us. Work, work against odds, help us.

our purpose to create a new species…

If we make it our purpose to create a new species, the trans-human, then…?

we enter the primary drama, and…

When we choose to make the world good, we enter the primary drama, full of protagonists (us!) and antagonists. Little wonder then that we arouse opposition.

There is a drama being played out within us…

There is a drama being played out within us, moment by moment:

What is the drama? Giving up? Disenchantment? Ennui? Disintegration? Giving over to others? Thinking it’s all decided when it is your thinking that so decides? Others holding us back? Are we holding us back?

The dénouement is in the decision, daily.

There is a drama being played out within us, moment by moment: Will we make the world good, or will we not? We choose.

Do we speak with this stranger, or put it off till we are ready? When is ready? The opening is now.

The drama is Which direction will we choose?

There are a hundred directions to choose, both away from good and toward good. The drama is in will we choose for good, for the destiny of perfecting of the world, and in Teilhard’s thought, the arriving at something trans-human. So the perfecting of the world is in something a step beyond humankind. This is the direction we are headed. Will we do something to carry us beyond where we are, something better?

What is that next step? The indications are that it is in togethering, betweening, collaborating.

It is not my job to energize you. It is my job to get out of your way and maybe help you get out of your way. It is my job to let you open your own way.

Ignite their divinity!

Touch them, ignite their divinity! Find a way. Make some calls. Open some space. See what works. Into this fire!

conversation as combustion:

If we see G*d as energy at one time and old grey monarch another, what of it? Both are true, it would seem. The difference might be attributed to observer participancy, or to timing, or maybe something else.

Conversation is the combustion of fuel and oxygen, live questions and persons. Heat and light—fire!—is the result: knowing each other and seeing clearer—doing!

the lens of who & what & where

We project G*d in our daily rounds
Not as we wish nor as we are nor as G*d is
Rather as comes from the lens of who & what & where

fire projects

The light and heat of fire are one
Neither arises from the other but both together
Combustion is the conversation of tinder and oxygen
Fire projects the first two, consumes the second
The who has a name & person, God & It

Then all we are is us–together

Maybe there’s no G*d apart from us
No us apart from G*d
Then all we are is us—together
& calling each other by our names
is what we each most want
& all there ever is
& where we both are heading

to hear someone call our name

one does not exist apart from One
Nor one from another
We do not exist apart from G*d
G*d does not exist apart from us
We need each other
We need to meet each other
We need to hear someone call our name
