genius and likeness are disorganizing

I’m reminding people of their genius and their likeness, and that is disorganizing enough.

There are stories here

There are stories here, stories we can tell each other to remind us of our likenesses and genius. Stories of people painting a meeting room that had not been painted in 26 years because we thought we had to ask an architect to choose the color. Stories of a KKK member who wanted a platform from which to harangue others who was contained by a handful of people in conversation. Stories of people finding ways to forgive those who killed all the members of their family. Stories of people flying around the world without refueling, running miles faster than anyone thought possible. Stories of school children changing the course of a government. Stories of people, possible!

touching both likeness and variety

When we gather in circle we are glimpsing the imagination in others and in ourselves, we are touching both our likeness and our variety, and we are lifted. Here is hope; we are possible. Our resources are what they always were: ourselves—our genius and our likeness—each other. And we see this truth, this beauty, this goodness.

the poetic genius in every person

G*d is the poetic genius in every person, the imagination, the spirit. G*d is spread far and wide, the imagination in trees and birds and stars. G*d is visible with those for eyes to see, eyes of imagination, eyes of meditation and contemplation, eyes of touching hands and touched hearts.

with dreams

She dreams of meeting Mom again
after the Alzheimer’s goes away
He dreams of eating a meal
finding a job
productive again
Dream beyond
a chicken in our pot
a car in our garage
Dream of
children the world around
freed of images of burning bodies
and Mommies raped and
Daddies beheaded
children free and healthy
playing on the grass
Paint with dreams

Borders! We have expanded our borders from sea to sea and beyond. We now have the capacity to extend them even further. This time we can do it by capturing not lands but hearts and minds (people might even stop hating us!), where every one is one of us. We are here, at this choice point: roll up ourselves into a tighter and tighter ball and keep everyone else out, setting walls at our borders; or take an open stance, extending our hands and arms in welcome, expanding our borders, a growing and growing circumference: embrace.

Recruiting Community Disorganizers

I’m recruiting community disorganizers—people who will meet with others and discover that they are in charge of the world: they will rearrange the world.

On community disorganizing

I’m a community disorganizer. I invite people to meet. People find out that they are possible. People change what needs changing.

Governments, corporations and charities do not exist.

Governments, corporations and charities do not exist. They are purely constructs of our imaginations. Therefore, governments, corporations and charities can do nothing to help the situation. Only people are possible.

We can do that

Opening space is good for getting work done; but more importantly is its role of getting people to say, We can do that.

People see that they have resources and abilities beyond what they had imagined a few minutes earlier.

The work of opening space and circles is showing us people are possible: right here, right now, we can make this better.

meta communities

G?d is underneath, in the back of our minds and hearts, beyond one single mind acting as puppet master, having the nature of meta communities of intelligences, swirling, swirling, pulsing just outside our consciousness, all, all.

We are more than enough
We have more than enough
When we put us together
We are, we have, more than that
We are, we have, all we are and have
This is a good place to start
