Time is a human construct. It is just as easy to say there is no time as there is to say there is time. Without time, we are not separate from the 11th generation. We are all beads on the same necklace. Perhaps we were picked up at random to be strung on the thread. What does that say to our notions of generations, generativity, and being open to meeting? A thought experiment for the thoughtful.

You people have changed the trajectory of your lives and your lineage. How did you do it? Tell one another your story.

Are we in crisis? Is this urgent? Are we at life and death?

Can we have reverence for humanity?
—The whole seething kettle of it?

List possible improvements to humanity: good, true, beautiful, generous, caring, sharing, justice, working to help others, gentle, dignity, propitious, community

I alone cannot know what are the most beneficial characteristics of being human. We, together, can start to find out.

How will we know we have done the work?

By asking the truth inside us. By hearing each other reflect to us. By sharing our reach with others in our now. By journaling with the generations and hearing what authentic comes back. By finding our response is clear of little voices saying, “That was too facile.” By comparing where we are to where we were. By noting our development. By watching if our own humanity has progressed. By seeing if we like ourselves better now.

Inside a question is a deeper question, a story. Might there be one in yours?

I can pull out the deeps in presentation by asking, Why is that question important to you? I can hear. Pause. Receive. Allow in. In vulnerability to their larger question or context is a stronger response.

The conversation is in the intention to hear the other: to take in; to go in.

Conversing across generations revolves with opening space for development, reflection, and spirit.

We can spark the ages with a good question. What questions have you got, have got you?

The work is hosting meaningful conversation.
