comes up out

To my good friends–

My vision is to rip and the rainbow light comes up out of persons, not in to them. I recognize that Jesus says See I knock that you let me into your heart (and that may be the calling of others, I am not given to know): I hear that as metaphor for See, I am already in you, you and I are one as the father and I are one, I am in you, recognize me. Jesus taps lightly and does not beat in the door.

Footprints in the Windsm # 694

Every conversation transforms: the straight towards using and tasting; the crooked towards living
Be alert
For your desire to know life grasp
For twists turns shadings quantum leaps surprises small poke-holes shy vitality
When we are our true work there is always metamorphosis

Blowing through the tree

G*d is blowing through the tree in the distance—
it raises its many hands, flashing white
then I realize the same wind is blowing around me

Will the world pay me for being of use?

Will the world pay me for being of use? is asking the wrong question. Can I take what the world dishes out? is closer. Take—but perhaps not in? Find my own nourishment while nourishing?

Another How question

How could we just have meetings with important conversations—no walls, no postings, just seeking out each other so we can be helpful and useful?

Prior vision?

Prior vision?
Materials speak
To hands
To Materials?
Both ways
And deeper
Bring forth

The challenge
The persons
Together pull
Apart scatter
Improvise outgrow
Act upon
Each other

Is war necessary to peace?
Is disease necessary to health?
It is a mystery and perhaps true.

Begin in war of differences

We have edges
But no bounds
We can slip over
Be known for ever
Peace wholeness relation
Begin in war
Of differences edges
Are not bounds

What? You don’t think mere talk?

What, you don’t think that “simply” talking can cure the violence? Well, then, what good has throwing more bombs and fists accomplished? If that does not work but we keep doing it, do we not label ourselves as insane?

Perhaps the difficulty is that what we want is wrongly conceived: for we want our way to prevail. Why? So then we can live as we wish to live, without being bothered by others. We think peace will not get that, but look: we are the ones who have thus defined peace. But I lay before you a larger vision of peace: live as we wish, being enriched, encouraged and challenged by others; a fuller life, always fuller.

You Latinos, you immigrants

You Latinos, you immigrants, I have a question for you: You see in the papers the news of the bombs in Lebanon and Israel. What have you learned in your struggle for freedom these last few months that might help these people?

For in helping another we see something new.

And in listening and speaking we begin to play, to open to a future that is being generous with us.

G-d does not want us to love G-d.

G-d does not want us to love G-d: G-d wants us to love one another. In this one we love G-d.

You have no faith in yourself

You have no faith in yourself. You have no faith in the one who created creativity. For if you did you would get to play at the challenges of today.

what flows through them

Speakers and listeners only
Bring a story to life by giving
Giving to a particular other
Giving what flows into them

Listeners are utterly essential

A listener is utterly essential to getting the story. A listener’s eyes alone shape and cull and draw out original heart. So much the better when the listener speaks and both speakers in excitement speak at once. For the story is their future.

imagination enough and more

We do not trust ourselves to be peacemakers, or to do whatever great thing the day calls to us in need. We do not see we have imagination enough and more for the task. Release it not by trying, rather by not trying. Play with it. Be lazy, which means open. Be wild. Go afield. Skip and hop. Play What if? With others. There is an answer: shining, bright, new.
