Are the spaces necessary? What is the sound of one

Are the spaces necessary? The place for the fire to flare up, the field into which to emerge, the membrane or narrow ridge where an entity forms just for an instant—the butterfly who exists but for a night and a day? The spaces are the and in one and one make two—necessary but unseen. Totally present and absolutely invisible. But more than present, essential. We cannot meet without space. When we converse on the phone, where is the conversation? What is the sound of one hand clapping? There is none, because the clap requires the other, and even that is not enough, but essential is the meeting. What is the conversation of one person meeting? One personality of that one person meeting?
