Where language is inherently inadequate

Human language is made of metaphor, of comparison to our nearer world, of this standing for that, because otherwise we cannot understand, we cannot take in, the other. So when we read anything, we need to be alert to metaphors in hiding. This is especially true of things for which language is inherently inadequate.
