Relativity all at once

Existence, standing out from the background (a useful and true picture), is really what subatomic physics and astrophysics are telling us goes on. It is all a field, and the things are knots in the fabric of the field, appearing, disappearing. Bohm’s metaphor of folding is understandable against this background. We are all against—flowing out of and into—this background. Relativity tells us then that the object and the field are one, the curvature of space time is the event, it does not occur in time, rather all at once, and even at once makes no sense. Eternity, as in time that runs on for ever, does not exist, but Now does, and I live Now, which is as close as any of us may get to “eternal” life.
