we have kept G*d our captive
beard, finger, puppet-master,
controller of our moments and happenstances
dictator, judge, father,
in single lives—Jesus, Muhammad, Gautama—
giver of gifts, maker right of all things
To be whom we don’t know and hold,
to be G*d’s true self,
let us set G*d free
