Purpose fulfilled?

What if our purpose in life were fulfilled long before we died, and our last 10 years came after? Last 30 years or 60? How would we live our later years? Would that purpose and event inform and infuse the rest of life? Would we become depressed or exhilarated? Something else?

Adult sand boxes

Let’s make adult sand boxes. For nursing homes and senior residences. Waist high like some garden planters. Give us a chance to play and create and discover things. About ourselves. Surely there are other play things elders would like to get their hands on.

We cannot change the world

We cannot change the world
Only converse with it
Then together we make a new one
—A new world?
—A new conversation?

Footprints in the Windsm # 1625–My life fits me

Footprints in the Windsm # 1625

My life fits me. I decided long ago to not retire—then I noticed I like working and my work. I engage people, computers, numbers—and I like those things. I write, poetry mainly, I meditate/contemplate, I ponder. These take me deeper, higher, further: places I want to go. Does your life fit you?

To hear one another out means two things:

To hear one another out means at least two things: 1. To allow the person to say the whole thing, till they feel complete; 2. To help the person explore the profundity of their own voice.

less important when playing?

Can we begin to notice the air in which we move, the pictures and assumptions we have constructed? For example, do we feel we are less important, less worthy, if and when we are ineffective, dependent, unproductive, resting, lazy, playing, relaxing, pondering, recalling, reflecting?

Look for qualities beyond quantities, inclusive

A direction to look for the large ways within the little ways is qualities beyond quantities, inclusiveness of both.

Every day something new or anew

Every day I see something new or anew. This is as it should be. I am working towards a larger understanding and a larger picture. Mind you: direction, not goal, for the world must ever grow: there is no end point.

Far more complex than you have said

Oh, the situation is far more complex than you have said. You have said it is too complex to solve. In fact it is so complex it will take all of us to get beyond solving it.

Footprints in the Windsm # 1624–You are missing out

Footprints in the Windsm # 1624

If all you see is the bad, you are missing out. If you see the bad and still see the world as holy, you have the picture whole.

What other small ways?

What other small ways that are big ways? Don’t seek or become attached to outcomes. Do the work. Get it out there. Be vulnerable. Lay the brick with care for the cathedral, don’t worry about getting to the bell tower while you are on the foundations.

little ways can be big

Little ways can be big in faithfulness. Still, I hear a pulling to raise my voice. That is faithful to me.

that’s ok

Some people
need a focal point
a person
an above
for their god
that’s ok
I see the holy
spread out around me
calling me higher
that’s ok too
none large as real
