Small groups are necessary

Small groups are necessary: it is here where we are heard; it is here where we get out hands working; it is here where we set our souls afire. Large groups are necessary: it is here where we spread our spirit. Fires respire.

Start, With, Fear

Start, With, Fear.

When we try to control, it is fear at work: we fear our plan will not be adopted if we do not control. Surely it will not, it never can be adopted: there are too many of us any time there are two or more of us, too many for only one notion to prevail. It takes working and weaving in face of fear, in faith in the people, that together we have a better way to try. No conclusions, only starts. Step out in face of your fear; trust your brother and sister; start.

Violence we want to overcome, not war

Colors and rainbows I see and hear; work as well. We cannot have—it does not seem to be given us to have all sweetness and light, harmony and unity among all peoples. There is something eternal about conflict and differences. Yet there is a oneness here. It is given to us to work this out. Work it is. Never complete, always calling to us: work with us to work for us, through the wars and conflicts.

It is violence we want to overcome, not war. Eternally there will be wars of ideas. This is good. This is growth. This is life.

Colors clash on occasion. They can work together, but even in the rainbow each shines. So it is work to work together. It is work to listen; work to hear. It is work to withhold violence; work to give confirmation as person to one whose ideas are contrary to ours. We are the colors. Can we weave colors? Can we encourage joining and shining out, gathering and loosening?

We are colors

We are Colors
Many we weave
Into one

Warring brightnesses
Gathering and Loosening
Is our Work

Weaving Freedom & Power
Ripping open & colors outpouring
Work is our one

With many voices in our heart

We humans live with many voices in our heart and in our ear; ever we endeavor to bring them together in harmony and unity. This then is our impossible quest: to unite Heaven and Earth, Individuals and Community. It is not to be: there is only one possigiggle: that humans meet each other and divinity to strive and contend mightily with each other. This is how humanity and divinity wins life. For one more day. And in that life and contending is the unity we thought would come in another door.

Footprints in the Windsm # 845

Footprints in the Windsm # 845

A friend wrote me yesterday saying that we write, don’t we, to find out? I write not to teach, nor to simply find myself. I write to find truth and reality and mostly, to find us.

This writing is a larger work, a world work, too.

Now that is interesting. I had been thinking that the work I was doing in these inklings was primarily for me. But no, this teaches me that I am doing a work for the world when I sit to write about larger questions.

So this searching is part of my world work, too.

Someday, someone might read and make the leap. Or perhaps just having set the thought at large in the world is enough for someone to leap.

This is important stuff and important stuff is often world work.

Heaven and Earth pass away

Heaven and Earth are concepts and these concepts shall, of necessity, pass away. It is all one, in God. God is one, we are one. Heaven and Earth—Community and Separation—need each other, because they are each other! They are part of each other. Democrat needs Republican, Israeli needs Palestinian, homelander needs immigrant: Do not just need each other, but are each other. You, dear homelander are the child of an immigrant. You, dear Israeli, dear Palestinian, are children of the same grandparents, of the same soil. You, whatever your politics, are seeking a peaceful living in this world for your grandchildren. Our children and parents—our relations—tie us together.

When we in our projects objectify the other, make him or her an it-enemy, or even it-victim, we have done violence to ourselves and our future. We need to open doors; talk to strangers; get stranger ourselves. Yes, there are those out there who are sick and who will try to make us into their victim, but the response is not to shut out everyone, rather to open also to these, to help them with their dis-ease.

Not about spreading words

This is not about spreading words. It is spreading people, engagement, action, spirit, community, G*d. It is stirring these things within us. It is working on finding the engagement with another which will stir these in widening circles. Being touched. Ripping, rippling.

Why do we think it is not possible?

Why do we think it is not possible? Because we have not seen that before and cannot imagine it? Because we fear the selfish in people? Because we do not have faith in the value of what we invite?

We need more than the rational

We need the more than rational. Rational is an animal killing a prey for food. Supra-rational is realizing the value of both lives. These are not opposites: we need both. We have both. If we suppress one part, we do not have a whole life. This is our higher way: life on the whole.
